Green for Spring

Well hello there, I can’t believe how neglected my blog has been, social media is all consuming and I get it we all want things to be easier, one less link to click on and all that, but like I’ve mentioned before, there’s something about just typing and writing it all down that I love, and even as a reader, sometimes just reading something and looking at the images is so much more soothing and at my own pace than watching video after video on a social app.

Any who, I recently got to work with a brand that is very dear to me; Villeroy & Boch. Ok backstory time!!!!

My mom is a big dinnerwear and table setting lover and borderline hoarder (sorry ma) and since we were young I remember her pulling out her fancy plates for special dinners, and getting my brother and I the cutest sets, I think it was also a 90’s thing that you just had to have dinnerwear and plates collections. And one brand that she adored and was always the center of her obsession was VB. Then when we got married my mom said you need to have a set of fancy plates for dinner, keep in mind my mom was again a 90’s corporate wife who hosted super fancy dinners and it was common especially in Europe and Mexico to host these cocktail dinners and go all out on a regular basis (can we start doing that again please!) but for us now living in texas that wasn’t a super common occurrence, and decided to wait on the fancy plates.

A couple years ago I decided it was time, I wanted a fancy more elegant plate set for events even if it was just for Christmas or new years, and while in Mexico city I found the most perfect for our décor and style and surprise surprise, it happened to be from VB. Took me a while to get all the pieces I needed but so happy to have done it. This was our christmas 2024 table, this collection is not available anymore though, but I'll link the new version.

Now about a month ago, I finally got to partner with VB for the very first time (it’s like full circle lol) and the best part is it was for a collection that not only I really loved but that could also work as an everyday set. I’ve also learned to stop saving things for special events; the plates, the bottle of wine, the perfect dress. Just go for it! The plates and that bottle and even that dress ARE the special event.

Well anyway, this is how I set up my new Perlemor plates, I got the new color in “alga” a very light shade of green with a pearly finish, which makes each plate unique BUT this collection is dishwasher aaaand microwave safe. It comes in three colors and VB has them set up all mixed and it looks amazing! I decided to stick to the all green look but definitely considering adding some other colors too, maybe the serving bowls.
